Charge Amps develops smart charging stations, cables, and dedicated cloud software while Monta provides a platform that enables users to manage and monetise their chargers, offering a range of services via its platform.

This includes comprehensive reporting, load balancing and a payment gateway that enables individuals to pay for the energy used. Monta also makes chargers visible on EV chargepoint apps to ensure that drivers can reserve chargers en route.

The partnership will grant UK Charge Amps customers the ability to access the full range of Monta software as part of their ownership, including industry-leading load balancing and automatic phase allocation services which ensure the most efficient energy use.

Crucially, this partnership will also allow UK Charge Amps users the opportunity to add a payment gateway to their charge points, enabling monetisation by leasing out the charge point to friends, family, and guests.

Additionally, Monta enables users to set a tariff for the energy used, meaning customers can tailor the cost of the energy depending on the user.

“We have seen an acute shift in the market for consumers wanting customisable options for their charge points,” said Paul Routledge, head of market area UK & Ireland at Charge Amps. “By partnering with Monta, we are allowing our customers to do just that, which is a boon for individuals and businesses alike. As the popularity of EVs grows, we may well see a cottage industry of energy leasing take hold across the country, further adding to the cost efficiency of owning an EV.”
