Powered by energy software platform Kaluza, Charge Anytime is enabled by advanced algorithms that optimise EV charging in response to market dynamics when emissions and costs are low.

Charge Anytime is a tariff add-on that allows eligible OVO customers to access a charging rate of 10p per kWh (equating to 3p a mile), which is three times cheaper than the UK’s average rate (34p per kWh). The only unrestricted type-of-use tariff on the market, Charge Anytime splits the EV charging costs from home electricity charges and credits customers for the amount of electricity saved via EV smart charging every month. This can result in 71% savings in charging costs.

Charge Anytime provides users with a hassle-free charging experience that fits their schedule and rewards them for helping create a more resilient energy system. Users input when they need their car charged by using a Kaluza-powered mobile app, the platform then automatically charges the EV at the cheapest and greenest times of the day. Kaluza says that, unlike other EV charging tariffs on the market, the new plan allows customers to enjoy a low, flat rate for their EV charging that is separate from their household energy use. This means customers are protected from energy price spikes and have greater control over their bills, all while becoming active participants in decarbonisation.

By generating charging cost savings, Kaluza is lowering the total cost of owning an EV and making the shift to electric accessible to more people by integrating with leading EV brands like Tesla, Volkswagen, and BMW, as well as market-leading chargers, Indra and Ohme.

Charge Anytime combines Kaluza’s powerful billing engine and EV charging optimisation, giving customers a clear view of the benefits of flexible EV charging directly on their bill. The plan leverages Kaluza’s extensive experience in EV charging optimisation with leading energy companies around the world and is a shining example of how the software can deliver easy and rewarding experiences for EV customers at scale.
