As the main energy infrastructure operator in Monaco for more than 130 years, Smeg created its EV charging branch, EVzen to support its customers in France and Monaco in the electric mobility transition.

The collaboration between EVBox and Smeg began in 2019 to provide EVBox BusinessLine charging stations for commercial purposes in Monaco. Since summer 2021, Smeg has been deploying the first stages of its own EVzen fast-charging network in Southern France, largely based on EVBox hardware.

Now, EVBox and Smeg have joined forces again for the second stage of the EVzen network rollout. The 300 EVBox Troniq Modular charging stations being supplied range from 120 to 180kW, and will be installed in more than 100 commercial sites all around France. The installations will be added to Smeg’s EVzen network, which already comprises of 150 fast charging ports in France. The main initiative of this collaboration is to advance fast charging infrastructure in rural and urban areas, where demand for charging on-the-go is high.

“We wanted to further strengthen our partnership with EVBox, in whom we have complete confidence and with whom we are working hand in hand to massively deploy fast charging throughout France,” said Anthony Dupont, director for electric mobility at Smeg. “We're convinced that together, we’ll be able to provide EV drivers with an ideal charging experience all around France."
