Tata Motors has agreed with 13 charging point operators to install and operate 25,000 additional public chargers for small commercial vehicles over the next year.
The charging point operators in India include A Plus Charge, Ampvolts, chargeMOD, Charge Zone, Electric Fuel, Envo The Sustainer, EV Spot Charge, Kazam, Nikol EV, Sonik Mobility, Thunderplus Solutions, Volttic and Zeon Electric.
According to a report on the Hindu Business Line website, all existing and upcoming charger locations for electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCVs) will be integrated and visible on Tata Motors' connected vehicle platform, Fleet Edge, providing customers with real-time navigation and availability for seamless access.
"This partnership with India's leading charging point operators underscores our dedication to building a robust support network and enabling profitable, zero-emission logistics for entrepreneurs and transporters across the country," said Pinaki Haldar, Tata Motors commercial vehicles vice president and business head.
Haldar noted that with over 10,000 Ace EVs now working, there is growing confidence among customers and transporters in the benefits of using four-wheel electric commercial vehicles. Tata Motors' e-SCV lineup currently includes the Ace Pro EV, Ace EV, and Ace EV 1000.
A press release from TATA, the vehicle maker already has 25,000 such chargers located across more than 150 cities including Delhi-National Capital Region, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. The chargers span key logistics hubs allowing for last-mile delivery operators with enhanced range and operational efficiency.
To enable high uptime and faster turnaround, Tata Motors said it has also established over 200 dedicated EV support centres across India for its growing customer base.
